The Braishfield Pantry
A community shop and café
Our Volunteers
The Pantry is almost entirely run by a fantastic bunch of volunteers - without them the Pantry would not exist. Our volunteers live across the Test Valley, come from a wide range of backgrounds, volunteer for different amounts of time and, while most people are happy to work behind the counter, others get involved in other activities.
We are always on the look out for more volunteers; we provide the necessary training and you will always be working with at least one other person, so no experience is required.
Wondering whether to volunteer? See what out volunteers say below on why they volunteer and what they get out of it.

Volunteer - Director & Shop Service
"Having lived in the village for several years and, over time, seen the closure of three shops and the local garage, it’s great to now share in the growth of The Pantry in its location in the heart of the village.
Both as a volunteer and director, I enjoy being part of The Pantry team, contributing to the long term development and success of this brilliant community resource."

"I've been volunteering at the shop for a long time and it's still like playing shops!! I really enjoy working with my fellow volunteers. I've met so many villagers and other customers from much further afield. It's been great to see the Pantry grow and become a real asset to Braishfield."

"For me it has been really great getting to know more people in the village both as colleagues and customers. I particularly enjoy watching the school children working out how best to spend their pocket money on a Friday afternoon."
